Create or import Photo Spheres

You can create or import 360 photos with the Street View app. When you publish a 360 photo, it appears on the map where other users can find it.

Tip: You can also add 360 photos with apps made by other companies. Check the app maker's website for instructions.

Create Photo Spheres with a phone

Create Photo Spheres with a 360 camera

  1. Set up and connect your phone and 360 camera.
  2. In the "Create" tab, select your camera.
  3. Capture one or more 360 photos.

Tip: Photo Spheres automatically download to the Street View app. Do not disconnect or turn off the camera until you can find all your photos in the Profile tab.

Take 360 photos with an HDR

High Dynamic Range (HDR) combines 3 photos that are taken at different exposures to create one photo that combines the best features of each photo.

To turn HDR on:

  1. Connect your phone to the 360 camera.
  2. Open the Street View app Street View.
  3. In the Create tab, select your camera.
  4. Select HDR.

Tip: For the best results, remain still while taking an HDR photo.

Tips to create multiple 360 photos

  • Make sure your phone is fully charged and has enough available memory to store your images.
  • You can attach the camera to a monopod, tripod, or helmet to stabilize the camera at 1.20-1.80 m/4-6 ft.
    • Monopod: Keep the monopod steady above your head and keep your head down when you take photos.
    • Tripod: Step out of the way before you take photos.
    • Helmet: Make sure to keep your head still and steady when you take photos.
  • Space the photos about 2 small steps apart (1 m/3 ft) when indoors and five steps apart (3 m/10 ft) when outdoors.
  • Follow natural paths and walkways so that there's a clear line of sight between the photos.
  • Take photos from the street and continue until you're inside the place.
  • When you take photos indoors, limit your collection to 100 photos.
